In front of a discrete number of spectators, Xewkija Tigers faced Maltese outfit Gudja United in their second friendly match of the new season. Despite the defeat, coach Bonello can still draw out some positives especially after the first half display, in which Xewkija controlled their opponents all the way, creating a number of scoring opportunites and limited Gudja's efforts from outside the box. In fact the first half ended with the Tigers leading by 2-0 with goals from Andreas Fotso and on-trial Bulgarian striker Kiril Diakov.
The second half though, was a completely different story, with Gudja reacting to their poor first half display and managed to find 4 goals without reply to win the match 4-2.
Xewkija's next game is on Wednesday when they face in another friendly match Maltese Premier League outfit Hamrun Spartans at Ta' Qali training grounds.
