On Monday 23rd August, Xewkija Tigers opened their new season in a friendly match against Xaghra United at Sannat Ground.

The match ended tied on 1-1 with Xewkija's goal coming from Badr Hamdouchi who is cucrently on trial with the club.  In this match the Tigers fielded new signing Eric Saliba and another foreigner on trial.

Xewkija will play their first competitive match on 5th September against Sannat Lions for the Independence Cup followed by the opening match of the Melita 1st Division League against the same Lions.
